ORAL
HISTORIES: Dr. Fred Allison from the U.S. Marine Corps
History Division, and Janet Tanner and Kira Gentry from Cal
State Univ., Fullerton, will be collecting historical
interviews during the Marine Phantom Foray. They will
be conducted individually starting on Wed afternoon and all
day Thur, Fri, and Sat of our event. Detailed
information will be placed in your registration packets.

that we have adequate space to accommodate everyone for all

Please

registration materials. PLEASE NOTE: cutting

WILL NOT take you to the site. The registration site
is a secure access site, so you must use the main URL bar on
your web browser to go directly to the site, or just click
the link above.
Registration
Instructions: On the registration site, in the
top right corner, you will see three blue boxes. This
is where you may download printable versions of the Schedule
of Events, Registration Form, and Shirt/Hat Order Form.
To
register online, simply fill in the information as
requested, provide your payment, and be sure to print a
receipt when your registration is confirmed. If
you prefer to mail in your form, please print the form from
the site, complete the form, and mail it in with your check.
For those who choose to register online and pay by
credit card there will be a 3% credit card banking issuing
fee added to your total.
Schedule
of Events: We have attempted to provide a
bit of something for everyone! For those arriving a
day early you’ll have the option to tour the USS Midway.
Thursday evening we’ll have a Welcome Aboard Reception at
the Town & Country Hotel, with plenty of food (included
in the cost) and cash bars available. On Friday we
have three terrific events for you to choose from – either
a tour of Miramaar and lunch at the O’Club, or attend the
MCRD Recruit Graduation, with lunch in the Mess Hall and
then the option to tour the USS Midway or just return to the
hotel. Friday evening we have left open so individual
squadrons can have dinners, either at the hotel or off-site.
The planning for such dinners is the responsibility of the
squadron leader. Saturday morning we’d like everyone to be
included in the pictures of each squadron – specific times
will be listed in your registration packet.. Saturday
afternoon will be the Memorial Service, and then Saturday
evening we’ll have our Banquet Dinner, with two special
guest speakers – Gen James Amos, Commandant of the Marine
Corps, and John Capelllupo, past President, McDonnell
Aircraft. Color Guard and band provided by 3rd Marine
Aircraft wing.
Registration:
Please complete your online registration (or mail it in) by
30 September so that the committee will have reliable
numbers to work with in their final planning. Late
registrations will be accepted, but tour availability cannot
be guaranteed. We’ll have a registration desk at the
reunion all week for those who need to make changes, add
guests, etc. Registration is required for all
attendees.
Ready
Room: The Reunion Committee will have a Ready
Room for all registered attendees of the Foray. Your
nametag you receive at registration is your ticket in, so be
sure to wear it!! We’ll provide complimentary (read
FREE!) beverages (soft and adult) every day/evening and
coffee each morning. The Ready Room will be located in
the Sunrise/Sunset Rooms at the hotel. In addition,
some squadrons will be hosting their own Ready Rooms.
We’ll provide a list of each squadron Ready Room and the
location in your registration packet.
Hotel
Information: The Town & Country Hotel
if offering a great rate of $113/night (plus tax) and the
rate will be good 3 days before and after the reunion (based
on availability). Please be sure to mention you
are with the Marine F4 Phantom Foray. To make
reservations you can either call the hotel (800-772-8524) or
see the bottom of this email for online reservations.
We are
still taking Photos and videos for showing in the Ready
Room. The deadline to have them included is 1 October.

The selected
hotel is the Town and Country Resort, which so many of you
are familiar with. The dates are Thursday 1
November thru Sunday 4 November 2012. Early
arrivals will be Wednesday 31 October and checkout Sunday 4
November. The room rate is $113 + 12.5% tax per night
and we have booked 400 rooms. We hope to grow this
number and encourage each of you to forward this information
to your friends. If you plan to attend please consider
reserving your room as soon as possible so we can gauge
potential additional needs.
